In a press release, the agency claimed it is actually alarmed in regards to the high quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The service point created for intervention ordeals a superior influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for your office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and boost access to Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
